Postcard From China

stools, antique, China

We've just come back from China and are still absorbing the impact of the sights, sounds and colours, not to mention the smog. Despite the one child policy, it's the sheer mass of humanity that hits you - there is so many cars on the road they alternate days that people are allowed to drive; even number plates on one day, odd the next.

Despite a hectic schedule we made it to the Great Wall. It was thrilling taking the chairlift to the top of the mountain and the view was amazing - but the best bit was getting back down! Lesser hoons can take the chairlift back, but we were always going to take the toboggan. There is a narrow steel track just the width of your toboggan - imagine the winter Olympics - and with just a wee bar to guide you round the bends, we shot back down the mountain at breakneck speed screaming all the way.
We've hit the ground running now that Christmas is revving up in the St Barts stores, but here's some pictures to share with you our journey.
