Travel Guide - Rio de Janeiro

We've been working hard - the lead-up to Christmas has been madness to be honest. It's hard work making such a beautiful shopping experience! We love getting the kind of feedback we so often hear in the shops - that it's like a balm to walk into the stores, a visual treat and creatively inspiring place to visit. We sincerely hope to continue to make our customers smile in the next year and many more to come.
As the head of the company, Jasmine travels constantly to liase with makers and suppliers, to get inspiration from other cultures and artisans, as well as all the time at her desk working alongside Alissa scanning for new designers and ideas for the evolution of the business.

It's fiesty, fun and often chaotic - and we think it's time for a holiday. We might end up simply spending a week on the deck with a good book, some quick swims and a few dinners with friends - but if we could go anywhere on earth, where would we pick? First kid in line is Jasmine - what destination is hot on her list?

Rio de Janeiro !

Lucky for Jasmine, we have an expert at hand, the beautiful Manoela manageress at Southport, who hails from Brazil and has put together this list.

Generally Rio style is 100% Casual  during the day and at night sensual, colourful, and leisure-like clothing fits the vibe.Rio is surely a vibrant city by the beach.

Packing:
Shorts, bikinis, hats, maxi dresses and short dresses, flat sandlas and cool wedges. Don't forget colourful beaded sexy dresses for party nights!
PS: Perfect waxing, mani/pedi and hair is a must!

4. Eat, drink, see and be seen:

The Leblon area is the most affluent part of Rio and has lots of great bars and restaurants especially on the Rus Dias Ferreira!
For a great meal there, try Sushi Leblon, Brigite, Quadriflogio and Venga.

5. Places to stay:

Preferably stay by Ipanema or Leblon.
Hotel Fasano is the celebrity’s best choice - Madonna, Beyonce and Lady Gaga all have stayed here. There is an infinity pool that merges with the Rio coastline.
Ceasar Park and Marina suites are also good.

6: What to do:

Weekends best to go to Buzios, a very charming beach town a couple of hours from the city… but that is another blog post!!!
During the weekdays people watch on Ipanema beach.
