Bohemian Escapes - Christmas

While it's hotting up here at the St Barts HQ in beautiful Burleigh, Queensland, we're thinking about alternatives to an Aussie Christmas. We love a BBQ'd turkey as much as anyone, and the beaches on our doorstep rank up there with the best on this planet - but that doesn't mean we can't get itchy feet for other vistas and experiences come December 25.
From a treehouse in Normandy cider country to a whirling dervish festival in Turkey, here's our shortlist of 5 bohemian escapes for a Christmas like no other:

Adding Spice To Your Decor

Eclecticism is the secret spice that makes the luxe bohemian home so flavoursome.
At St Barts we are lucky enough to constantly roam the globe sourcing and curating pieces to enhance your home and reflect your own connections to culture and craft.
Travel souvenirs are rich with story and intrigue and continue to speak to your inner gypsy long after the journey has ended.
What to collect and how to display are questions you may ask yourself either when shopping or travelling. The first tip is if you love something - say, silver tea trays, ceremonial masks or Japanese pottery - start buying it! Not just one but enough to make a story, to create a cluster or a group of similar objects will make each piece seem purposeful and meant, rather than an accident of whim.

Gypsy Luxe - An Up-Late Event At Southport

The Gypsy Luxe night we hosted for the Brickworks Up Late event in Southport was a smash hit - if we do say so ourselves. The store is still buzzing from the influx of amazing stock and the ever-inspiring merchandising by our creative director and all-round genius Alissa. Alissa and her trusty side-kick Mel turned the store into a bohemian wonderland, full of surprises and opulence. St Barts has never looked more colourful and flamboyant - it's bordering on the decadent.
Fresh drops of perennial favourites Johnny Was, bonnie and neil and Samantha Robinson were devoured by our fabulous customers - along with quite a bit of champagne. The roundie towel by hot new local label The Beach People was a big favourite too - and it continues to soak up the attention of Aussie stylists and media  - well done Victoria and Emma!
